Police Arrest Adeyemi, ‘Fake’ DG of PFIPC
The police have arrested the ‘fake’ Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his arrest.
Security sources said the ‘fake’ DG of PFIPC was arrested at his hideout in Osun State on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and taken to Abuja.
Adeyemi was billed to present himself in the court early in the day to answer charges relating to forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
During the court proceedings, counsel to Adeyemi, Genesis Francis informed the of his inability to convince his client to attend the hearing, citing concerns raised by the defendant, that he feared his safety given the the significant public attention the matter has generated.
In his reaction, the prosecution counsel, Wisdom Madaki argued that the case had suffered repeated delays due to the defendant’s absence. He therefore, urged the court to issue warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest in line with Section 394 of the Administration of Justice Act.
While granting the request of the prosecution counsel, Justice Umar held that the charges were filed on November 27, 2025, while proceedings commenced on December 4, 2025.
The presiding judge also noted that Adeyemi had appeared in court only once and had failed to attend subsequent proceedings, hence the granting of the prosecution counsel’s request for an arrest order to be issued.
