The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB has announced the release of the first batch of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, of candidates who sat for the examination on Thursday April 16, 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on his X handle.
He said the results for 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 UTME is available for checking.
According to Dr. Benjamin, UTME candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERSULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration.
The statement clarified that, for now, candidates can only view their results, as printing options are not yet accessible.
The examination body warned UTME candidates against attempts to manipulate or alter their result messages received from its official platforms as such actions constitute a criminal offence.
The board disclosed that already some suspects have been taken into custody for criminal offences. The suspects who are two candidates and one parent were alleged to have falsified results using artificial intelligence (AI) and other electronic means.
UTME candidates are strongly warned of the consequences of the law if any one of them is found guilty of such malpractice.
