INEC Declares Barr Envulu-Anza Winner Of Nasarawa North Senatorial By-Election In Akwanga

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Barrister Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza as winner of the Nasarawa North Senatorial By-election which took place on Saturday June 20, 2026.

Barr Envulu-Anza of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner with 45,362 votes to beat five other contestants from other political parties.

The declaration was made on Sunday June 21, 2026, by Prof. Aminu Ali, INEC Returning Officer at the College of Education, Akwanga, which is the venue of the Nasarawa North Senatorial District collation centre.

Final results as declared by INEC:

1. Halilu Danladi Envulu-Anza-(APC) – 45,362.

2. Hon. Labaran Maku-(LP) – 12,931.

3. Emmanuel David Ombugadu-(PDP) – 11,570.

4. Mohammed Stephen Alaku-(ADC) – 4,244.

5. Ishaya Dubai Dodo-(NDC) -1,496.

6. John Paul -(NNPP) – 102.

Meanwhile, some political parties are protesting against the results. Agents of the Labour Party at the Nasarawa North Senatorial District collation centre staged a walkout in protest over the results and the collation process.
