Trump Ordered Pentagon To Protect Nigerian Christians Targeted By ISIS

President Donald Trump of United States has ordered Pentagon to Nigerian Christians Targeted by ISIS-linked terrorist groups.

This was disclosed by U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth during a press conference at the White House on Wednesday.

Hegseth said Trump gave the directive about a year ago after learning about attacks on Christians in Nigeria, and that American forces have already mobilised resources and began operations in collaboration with Nigerian security forces, claiming that the recent joint Nigeria-American raid on May 15 on the fringes of the Lake Chad, led to the killing of ISIS’s second-in-command in Nigeria, Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, who was born in Borno State.

The U.S. defence chief said said the operation had received little media attention despite its significance.

He said that “there are a lot of things that the president empowers the department to do on behalf of the American people that he deserves great credit for.”

Hegseth said the operation also led to the deaths of “hundreds” of ISIS fighters linked to attacks on Christians in Nigeria and threats to the United States.

He explained that the operation reflected the Trump administration’s commitment to counter terrorism efforts and protecting vulnerable communities
